Hiyah All...Well the busy time is just around the corner thank christ !!!...Im just using that as an excuse to leave all the little jobs Ive gotta finish... Ive put new lights in the bar however...I know im being boring when you wanna read something a bit more exiting....Well there's not much happening really...except me and the girlfriend are getting on great...its nice to be able to do things and go somewhere with someone instead of doing everything alone.,...and she's a good laugh as well !! All the Pool/poker night competitions with the exception of the Weds night quiz have all faded away now...I have'nt had a flyer in weeks promoting anything it was getting a bit silly anyway, people have only so much money and when you could have gone to a different do every night....but I suspect there'll all be rearing their ugly heads in the quiet time next year.... I did the quiz night competition at the Sakal Bungalows which made a change from winning it as we usually do...Team Mark(Corner Bar) Jamie(Rubix) John(long time tourist) and me....we always fight it out and last week only won on a tie-break question !! The beer at Sakal is only 62 cents a glass (30p to you)...and the winners get the usual t-shirt and jug of beer ...its a nice little regular wednesday spot. If only I had enough time to record Jamies(Rubix) nocturnal goings on I could easily fill a column of a thousand words...he's a bit of a lad....I wish I was his age again, he'd have some competition..but anyway Ive got a nice girlfriend now and Im not interested in any other girl at all and aint gonna mess around...honest !! STOP PRESS !! I am now the possesser of 2 and a half bars...things have taken another turn....The guy (Paul) that bought the old asylum bar and the empty bar next to me and called them Cool Bananas one-two ...has had an accident (broke leg) which resulted in him losing his job on an oil rig and had lead him into a small financial crisis...has had to sell and as he offered one, then both of them to me at an amazing knock down price I of course dived in and bought them both !! I had already agreed with Dean (Mosquito bar) that if a bar came up we'd buy it together...so, thats what happened and we're gonna call it KISS, I have'nt got a name for my other new bar yet, but Im not gonna spend a small fortune on it like I did with Pacinos....I aint got the money anyway (well, I have but I aint going to) its going to be done in wood !! lots of it and Im going to make it a drinkers bar not for girls except my girlfriend anyway....So, all this new invovlement in two new enterprises has scuppered any chance of me taking it easy for the next year, Im going to sell my half of the Kiss bar on the 1st of April 2010 (18 months time) as Ive agreed and my new bar will go before as soon as I get a nice offer for it !....with Pacinos being sold around the same time I'll be out of the bar business in less than 2 years at the latest !! And what then ...well I'll go into the retail industry....that means buy a lease on a shop with accomodation above, my girlfriend will then sell clothes and t-shirts that I'll design and get printed...plus copy the best t-shirts from Thailand and sell them as well....And then really retire and read a few books and relax properly, and go out drinking a couple of times a week instead of everynight !!!...There are just too many mornings when Im feeling my age Im sorry to say, but there has been a little feud of sorts going on down at the front 2 bars(Shipwreck) and (Paddys) which has resulted in a few problems....But both Paddy and Pat are both back soon, so us others are hopeful a solution can be worked out between them ....I aint really giving you all the facts yet as Im not in possession of all the facts yet !......
